Niesmann and Bischoff iSmove - Under 3.5 tons - The impossible becomes possible

First the most important things. According to the manufacturer, the iSmove 6.9 E weighs just 2,850 kg when ready to drive. With a technically permissible total mass of 3,500 kg and an unladen weight of 2,720 kg, that is a whopping 780 kg payload in a fully integrated luxury class motorhome. These are numbers that are absolutely inspiring.

After more than 23,000 hours of development work, Niesmann + Bischoff has created an integrated 4-wheel motorhome that has never existed before.

Integrated motorhomes are often unattractive due to their boxy appearance. The iSmove, on the other hand, almost looks sporty.

On which base vehicle is the iSmove built?

The basis is a Fiat Ducato with AL-KO low frame AMC 35L. A 2.2 liter four-cylinder with BGT turbocharger and an output of 140 hp (the 180 hp version can be chosen as an option).

Shifting is manual, with a 6-speed gearbox. The 9-speed automatic transmission can be selected as an option, but in addition to a surcharge of almost 4,000 euros, it also means an additional weight of 18 kg.

Dimensions, weights and capacities of the iSmove

Dimensions

The iSmove 6.9 E is 699 cm long, 228 cm wide and 284 cm high.

The standing height in the Niesmann + Bischoff iSmove is 198 cm.

The dimensions of the single beds in the rear are 206 x 73.5 cm and 197 x 73 cm.

The highest point in the rear garage is 119 cm and the area of the rear garage is 201 x 108 cm.

Weights

The permissible total mass of the vehicle is 3,500 kg, the mass in running order is given as 2,850 kg.

The maximum permissible braked towing capacity is 2000 kg.

Filling quantities

The fuel tank almost 75 liters and the AdBlue tank 19 liters.

The fresh water tank has a total volume of 200 liters; 20 liters are specified for driving. The waste water tank can hold 130 liters. The storage space for gas bottles is sufficient for 2 x 11 kg bottles.

Exterior

The rear garage is accessible from both sides. The doors of the rear garage have a loading dimension of 101 x 80 cm. The flaps of the rear garage are held by gas pressure devices and open upwards.

The flap for the fresh water supply and the flap for the cassette toilet are on the driver's side.

There are no doors on the driver's side or the passenger side as standard. Boarding and alighting is via the body door. A driver's door can be ordered for an extra charge.

All windows in the body are frame windows and are flush with the body.

The supply tanks are all located in the heated double floor and the drain cocks can be accessed via a service flap on the driver's side. The shore power connection is also located in this service hatch.

The flap for the gas bottles is on the passenger side. Unfortunately, the bottles must be placed one behind the other and not next to each other.

Interior

As is usual with most motorhomes, the driver's and passenger's seats can be rotated and thus integrated into the living area. This creates a large seating area for four to five people. The table can be moved variably.

The living area is very spacious and airy. This is mainly due to the fact that no hanging cabinets were installed in the front area of the vehicle. There is only one storage compartment above the TV.

In the kitchen area there is a hanging cupboard. The kitchen block has a two-burner gas cooker and a large sink. For a surcharge, the kitchen block can be expanded to include additional worktops. Under the sink is a shallow but very wide and deep cutlery drawer. Underneath is the refrigerator as a drawer. And at the bottom of the kitchen block there is another drawer with compartments of different sizes.

If the kitchen package is purchased, there is also a shelf that can be moved up and down electrically. It is ideal for storing the coffee machine.

With the shelf fully extended and the sliding door to the sleeping area, you can completely separate it.

Opposite the kitchen are a cloakroom and the bathroom. The bathroom is entered through a sliding door. There is a small sink with an attractive fitting and some shelves and cupboards for the bathroom utensils. The toilet offers enough space and freedom of movement to sit comfortably.

In order to take a shower, a variable wall is moved and the bathroom becomes a large shower. There is a large skylight in the bathroom for good ventilation.

In the rear are the single beds, which can also be converted into one large bed. The cold foam mattresses lie on disc springs, which leads to more comfort.

Around the sleeping area there are six wall cupboards that offer enough space. There are wardrobes at both ends of the bed so that plenty of clothes can be stored.

Conclusion

A very nice mobile home with many clever and practical solutions. The basic price for this vehicle can almost be described as cheap. But if you go all in and equip the vehicle with the numerous extras, then it quickly becomes expensive and possibly too heavy and an increase would be necessary.

Nevertheless, if you are interested in an integrated motorhome, you should take a closer look at the iSmove.
