After the price increases in recent years, buying a mobile home has become an expensive affair. That's why I've been looking for three small mobile homes for two people that you can also afford.

Westfalia Amundsen 600 D
We start with the Westfalia Amundsen 600 D.
Manufacturer
Westfalia's corporate history goes back to the 1950s. Around 8,000 recreational vehicles are manufactured annually by around 400 employees at the Rheda-Wiedenbrück site.

On which base vehicle is the Amundsen 600 D built?
The base vehicle of the Amundsen 600 D is the Fiat Ducato. In the basic version, the 120 hp Multijet diesel engine with 6-speed manual gearbox is installed.
Optionally, and therefore at an additional cost, a more powerful engine can also be selected. A 9-speed automatic converter is also available for the Ducato, also for an additional charge of around 3,700 euros, but not for the 120 hp version.

Exterior
The Amundsen 600 D has a simple design. The fresh water inlet is located on the passenger side at the rear.
On the driver's side is the access door to the cassette toilet and the shore power connection.
Interior
The living room is entered via the sliding door on the passenger side. An electric step makes it easier to get into the mobile home.

The dinette is in the entrance area. The driver's seat and the front passenger's seat can be rotated and thus integrated into the dinette. The table can be enlarged using a rotating extension. There are two storage compartments above the dinette.
Behind the dinette is the bathroom. There is a rotating Thetford cassette toilet, a washbasin with a pull-out tap and a shower tray with two drains.

Opposite the wet cell is the kitchen block with a two-burner gas cooker and a stainless steel sink with a glass cover. The worktop can be extended using a practical folding mechanism. To the right of the kitchen block is the 95 l compressor refrigerator and offers additional worktop or storage space.
In the rear is the transverse bed measuring 140 x 197 cm.

Forster Living Up V 599 HBL

Forster is a rather young company compared to many other well-known brands. The first Forster motorhome was only built in 2012. The first Forster Van was built in 2020. But Forster Vans are a cheap entry-level brand with attractive basic prices.

This makes it easier to access the fridge when sitting in front of the motorhome.
The kitchen block has a 2-flame cooker with a cover and a work surface with an integrated sink.
The dinette is opposite the large sliding door. The rotating seats in the driver's cab are integrated into the living area and therefore offer sufficient space. There is a large storage compartment above the dinette.

In the rear area on the passenger side there is access to fill the fresh water.
Interior
The interior of the Livingstone K2 features a classic layout. The dining area is opposite the large sliding door. The driver's and front passenger's seats can be rotated and thus integrated into the dining area.

Behind the dinette is the wet room with a retractable washbasin, a recessed shower tray and a shower fitting with a separate mixer tap.
Unfortunately, there is only a shower curtain with a magnet, but the wet room has a window.
The kitchen block has an integrated steel sink and a 2-flame gas cooker. The 70 liter double opening compressor fridge is located in the
entrance area.
Large drawers under the sink with automatic closure provide ample storage space.
