Introduction
The roots of Dethleffs GmbH go back to 1931. Arist Dethleffs builds the first caravan to be able to travel with his family. Many decades later, Dethleffs is one of the leading manufacturers of motorhomes and caravans.
History, development and expansion of Dethleffs GmbH
Dethleffs produced the first caravans for its customers in a wooden shed. The first customer models are aerodynamically shaped and already equipped with many practical details for the time.
Over the next few years, Dethleffs refined the individual models, produced them in series and delighted numerous customers.
In 1973, Dethleffs built a new 12,000 square meter plant and employed 235 people.
Dethleffs did not bring the first mobile home onto the market until 1983. Based on the Fiat Ducato, Dethleffs laid the foundation for Fiat in the mobile home industry. In this, the Dethleffs brand was integrated into the Hymer Group.
In 1989, Dethleffs already had alcove models, semi-integrated and fully integrated models on offer.
In 2005 the cooperation with the Pössl company begins. Dethleffs designs, develops and builds the camper vans for Pössl.
In the years that followed, Dethleffs continued to expand its product lines and further established itself on the leisure vehicle market.
Today, Dethleffs is one of the most successful companies in the leisure vehicle industry.
